Fanjiabu Village faced a major transformation during the Village Reconstruction Scheme in Taiyuan City. By the end of 2016, everyone had moved away, and numerous rural structures were demolished. I have strong ties to this village, living with my family at No. 34 Second North Street. I wasn't present when our house was torn down. Being distant from my hometown, it seemed as if the whole village was abruptly lost in what felt like an overnight event.
