Ever Complete, Never Whole

Celebrating the Spring Festival with my family has led to a cherished tradition of cooking together during the first month of the lunar year.

As the year comes to a close, my parents take on the joyful task of preparing an array of dishes. From braised beef and stewed chicken to boiled mutton, steamed meatballs, egg rolls, crispy roasted pork, and fried hairtail, each dish is a labor of love that fills our home with the comforting aroma of the season. These culinary delights not only satisfy our taste buds but also create an atmosphere of warmth and joy that brings us closer together.

Dumplings and fried cakes are typically made just a day or two before the Spring Festival, adding the final touch to our feast. Over a week, our two large refrigerators gradually fill with these festive treasures, all ready to welcome the holiday with plenty to share and enjoy.
